From start to finish this is the worst experience I have had in 25 years of driving a vehicle. I took my 2001 Boxter S in for an oil change and multi-point inspection. The very next day I drove the car it started smoking and broke down on the side of the road with a final diagnosis that the engine would need to be replaced. The car went to Porsche working fine and the next time I drove the car it was ruined. Porsche took no responsibility and would not even refund my oil change. To make matters worse, this was my late father?s car which I treated as a memento to keep his spirit alive in a car and a brand he was a lifelong fan of. To provide details, the car was promised on August 24th and the job was not completed until August 27th. Throughout this process, Tomas Rios, the associate assigned to my car was mostly unresponsive when I began to question what the hold up was. Upon pickup, I waited for an hour after I arrived to get the car back at which point Tomas pointed out some recommendations for future services but assured me all services could wait. The next day I drive the car to work and it breaks down. I call Porsche letting them know what has happened and they said to tow it in and a tech would look at it in the morning. The car was dropped on-site and around midday on Saturday after not hearing from anyone I went to the dealership to find my car sitting there in the same spot it was dropped. No one had looked at it, contacted me, moved it to the service department. NOTHING. So after expressing my dissatisfaction, I was assured that someone would look at it and get back to me that day. At the end of the day, I received a call saying they did not have time to look at it and I'd have to wait till Monday. On Monday I asked to speak to the service manager Chad Zarnow who told me the air/ oil separator failed, oil was leaking out of the air filter housing, clogged catalytic converters, and a melted ignition coil, and that a new engine would be needed and more importantly, after getting an oil change and service inspection, the day before that none of this was their fault and they would not take responsibility for any wrongdoing or repairs. So I set up a meeting to speak to the GM, Andrew Parkinson, who echoed Chad?s response, taking no responsibility but in a more averting smug way. He even went as far as saying it was my negligence for only driving the car once a week that was the result of the malfunction. When I lost my cool for the first time in this highly disappointing unprofessional experience the GM said he'd look into options of helping out with the cost of a new engine. I thought ok... this is progress. A week later I got an $18,500 quote for the cost of the used engine and service. Another slap in the face but par for the course with Porsche Orlando at this point. Needless to say, I did not take the offer. I should have never returned the vehicle to the dog that bit me. I put my faith in a brand I grew up believing was the best and they treated me poorly from start to finish.
